‘Africans in America’ event to explore what it means to be African American

The 91Âþ»­app Center for Africana Studies will host Nemata Blyden, Ph.D., history professor at George Washington University, for a virtual presentation on the relationship between African Americans and Africa from the era of slavery to the present. The presentation will be held March 31 at 5:30 p.m. on Zoom.

Blyden will examine the diversity of African American identities through relationships with region, ethnicity, slavery and immigration to investigate questions fundamental to the study of African American history and culture.
