University Communications and Marketing’s main function is to promote and advance the University’s internal and external image and reputation. In addition to focusing on the University’s overall strategic priorities, the team also assists departments in the development of cost-effective communications, marketing and advertising strategies designed to drive growth and visibility within individual programs and colleges.

Our team assists with communications projects by development of stories that highlight the University, our students, faculty and staff that drive visibility within our internal and external communities. For marketing projects, we provide planning, copywriting, design and production services. We also manage all placement and reservation of advertising including digital advertising, newspaper and magazine space, outdoor billboards, transit signs and broadcast time.

Additionally, we provide support that includes collaboration with our in-house creative services division to complete your project.

Project Request Guidelines

  • Marketing Strategy Request: If you need assistance with digital or print marketing, advertising or web work.
  • News Request: If you need a press release, assistance with social media strategy or promotion of an event or publication in University Newsroom, My News or Georgia Southern Magazine.
  • Photo Services Request: If you need professional photography services for the purpose of  promotion of programs or services.
    • Please note, headshots should not be submitted via the Photo Services Request. .
